A stunning room-sized carpet knotted in the demanding Nain technique, whereby thematic motifs in the superbly refined medallion composition are knotted in amidst the otherwise very finely knotted wool pile. This is definitely the the work of master-craftsmen only. This is a particularly majestic example of this famous Central Persian type, in which the characteristic Nain palette of delicately pastel dyestuffs is used to express a classic Persian workshop composition of infinite grace and inner detail.
