A very fine and outstanding example of the decorative carpets of Jaunpur, admirably demonstrating the beauty and spatial elegance of the Persian Tabriz heritage in its careful organisation of the all-over floral repeat scheme, wonderfully illuminated by softly glowing colours. The rhythmic flow of the central ornamentation is well reciprocated in the sinuous leaf-and-palmette meander border arrangement.
