A striking head-and-shoulders Baluchi prayer rug with central Tree-of-life design. Light camel field with stylised Tree motif in dark red and indigo, two cruciform palmettes at the base. Superbly dark border in deep rose and indigo. High lustre pile. All natural dyes. Close knotting. Excellent condition with finely brocaded end webs. Circa 1900, or earlier. A notable example of a rare and admired design group.
