This magnificent item displays an enchantingly graceful allover field design in the high floral tradition of the Royal Kashan rugs knotted under the patronage of Shah Abbas the Great in late 16th Century Persia. Against and eloquently ivory background, the spacious scheme of flowing stem-tendrils is enriched by a wonderfully varied series of elegant lanceolate leaves.
